The armored soldier, who accompanied Kushana, the commander of the Torumekian army that suddenly invaded Nausicaä's Valley of the Wind, as a member of her Imperial Guard, symbolizing Torumekian strength with their formidable appearance, has been sculpted into an action figure as part of the Takeya-style Jizai Okimono series. While reminiscent of Western armor in design, Takayuki Takeya has redesigned this heavy armor, which is said to be made of ceramic. By incorporating not only the animation's settings but also ideas and designs expressed in the original manga, it achieves a realism akin to actual armor. Decorative details and forms have been added to various parts, imparting a dignity befitting the Imperial Guard. The distinctive stocky yet robust proportions of the Torumekian armored soldier, capable of deflecting enemy attacks, have also been reproduced. With high articulation, the multi-layered armor connections are cleverly divided and joints placed, allowing for dynamic posing such as swinging a sword or axe as seen in the film. In addition to a greatsword tucked at the waist, a battle axe and a large shield are included, allowing for the recreation of various combat scenes from both the animation and the original work.●The armor's coloring is expressed with metallic paint, creating a sense of gravitas for the heavy armor.●Movable axes are also provided in the shoulder and neck plate sections, adopting a structure that does not hinder posing.●Detailed elements such as fasteners for securing the armor and the gambeson (protective jacket) worn underneath are also expressed.●Details from the original manga, such as belts for hanging the greatsword with practical pouch arrangements, are reproduced.●The chainmail wrapped around the waist is articulated in sections, allowing the legs to spread wider than they appear. The kusazuri (skirt-like armor) placed at the front of the waist also has a movable axis at its base.●While the cape is a fixed type prioritizing its shape, it is movable at the base, allowing for more dramatic posing.●The handles of the axe and sword feature shapes and details seen in the original manga. The axe blade, for instance, includes expressions that suggest its manufacturing process.●The large shield also reproduces the retractable claw-like gimmick attached to the tip of the shield as seen in the original manga. It can be deployed and stored.
