The history of the rotary engine, which was temporarily interrupted after the production of the RX-7 ended, resumed with the RX-8, which appeared in 2003.
Even though it was a 4-door, 4-seater, the compact rotary engine was essential for embodying Mazda's vision of a sports car.
The RX-8, which retained the image of Mazda's past sports cars while evolving to suit the 21st century, underwent major interior and exterior changes in 2008 and was produced until 2012, and is currently known as the last rotary sports car.

TLV-NEO released a new mold for the late model RX-8 in August 2024.
The hood can be opened and closed, and the engine cover is detachable, allowing you to see inside the engine compartment.
This new color, navy, was the main color at the time of the late model's debut.
