[About Greataurus]
During the late 1970s, known as the third kaiju boom, Popy released the "Greataurus Series" and "Kingzaurus Series" (sold from 1978 to 1981). These were collectible toys from Popy, a group company of Bandai.
The most distinctive feature of the series was the unique foot molds on both feet of every character. Due to this, the series was sometimes referred to as the "Foot Mold Series."
It was developed as both the Ultraman Kaiju Series and Toho Kaiju Series. At the time, Greataurus featured only select characters from the Kingzaurus Series in giant sizes. The Greataurus Godzilla was later modified into items like lamps and telephone stands, appearing in fancy shops. As a project for Godzilla's 70th anniversary, the historic "Greataurus Godzilla" sofubi was faithfully reproduced using new molds, with the first release selling out quickly.
This second Godzilla release appears in a clear, colorless version.
Articulated arms, legs, and tail
The soles of the feet feature the original Greataurus foot mold.
