In "The Criminal Is Dancing," a single "Criminal" card, which no one wants to hold, secretly circulates from hand to hand among all players. The goal is to deduce its location and identify the final holder in this card game. A crime has been committed. The criminal is among us, gathered here today.
Among the cards dealt to everyone, there is only one "Criminal" card. If you can identify the person holding this card, you win; if you are identified as the holder, you lose. Players take turns playing one card from their hand and using its effect. For example, a "Witness" can look at all cards in someone's hand. A "Detective" allows you to accuse one person, saying, "You are the criminal!"
Since no one wants to be seen holding the criminal card or lose by being identified, players will want to pass it to the person on their left or to any other player using cards like "Bargain" or "Information Exchange." The person you pass it to becomes the criminal, giving you a chance to identify them.
However, the card will continue to be passed from hand to hand. "It went this way, then that way, and now it should be there..." Keep a close eye on its whereabouts and deduce its location.
Various other cards also circulate. If you get a "Detective" card, you can try to identify the criminal by saying, "You are the criminal!" However, even if you are confident, the other person might reply, "No, it's not me." Why is that?
It might be because they are also holding an "Alibi" card. Or perhaps the card exchanged between two people a little while ago was not the "Criminal" card after all.
In fact, you can also win with the "Criminal" card. Each time a card is played, the number of cards in each player's hand gradually decreases. If your last remaining card is the "Criminal" card when it's your turn, you successfully escape. The limited number of "Detective" cards means that if you don't use them with certainty, you might let the "Criminal" escape.
The game continues in this way. If you identify the "Criminal," you win, and the "Criminal" loses. If the "Criminal" escapes, that player wins, and everyone else loses.
