It is a peaceful city blessed with the cheerful climate of the West Coast, but in recent years, it has been plagued by the spread of a highly addictive drug, commonly known as "Ripcord."
To crack down on such crimes, a new organization was formed within the Sakrada Police Department.
This special investigative unit, called "Side Kicks!", gathered members with free-thinking ideas and diverse skills.
"Chika," with exceptional athletic ability; "Hibari," a skillful psychological profiler; "Shishiba," a quiet genius hacker; "Rico," excellent at eidetic memory; and "Tatewaki," the leader who unites these four.
The special investigative unit was beginning to attract the city's attention with its unconventional investigation methods.
One day, the protagonist, "Inori," is scouted as a new member of Side Kicks.

The text adventure game "Side Kicks!", a universe shared with "BUSTAFELLOWS," was released in 2017 as a PlayStation Vita exclusive title. Now, with refined graphics, sound, and system, plus additional episodes to the main story and a crossover episode with "BUSTAFELLOWS," it has returned as "Side Kicks! beyond"! This is not merely a port of the platform; it has been reborn with refinements in every aspect, including character sprites, event CGs, UI, and sound. The additional episodes not only include bonus scenarios like prequels but also various incident scenes added to the main game, unfolding a new story. Many new event CGs have also been added. Furthermore, it includes a crossover episode featuring characters from "BUSTAFELLOWS." Teuta and friends, who came from the East Coast city of "New Sieg" to the West Coast city of "Sakrada." While they are warmly getting to know the Side Kicks members, they get caught up in an incident, leading to a "police" and "suspect" relationship...!?
