Genre: Puzzle Action RPG. Inspired by the concept of quantum mechanics, CASSETTE BOY is a puzzle action RPG where you adventure through a world where "existence vanishes when not observed." While it appears to be retro pixel art, it's actually an action RPG with a 3D world where you rotate the screen to manipulate what is seen and unseen to solve puzzles. Beyond the main story, it includes randomly generated dungeons, mini-games, and many hidden elements, offering plenty of content to explore and allowing for a deep gameplay experience.
The idea that unseen things cease to exist means, for example, if an obstructive character or monster is in front of you, preventing you from proceeding, you can rotate the screen to hide them behind a wall. When they become unseen, they not only disappear but also cease to exist. This allows the player to remove obstacles and advance.
Of course, other gimmicks, such as switches or your own arrows, can also be made to disappear. Solving puzzles requires a new way of thinking; conventional methods won't work. It offers a fresh puzzle experience. This title also won the Grand Prize at "BitSummit," Japan's largest indie event in 2024, and was nominated for the Visual Design Award. It was also selected for "Selected Indie 80" at Tokyo Game Show 2024, garnering significant attention in Japan's indie scene.
