Gakken no Kagaku offers a genuine scientific experience with a kit featuring "The World of Ancient Creature Tadpole Shrimp," a magazine introducing biological experiments, Gakken manga "Himitsu Series," and the online community "Asobunda Research Institute." (Revised edition)
[Product Features]
● Gakken no Kagaku's first biology kit. "Living fossils" can be grown from eggs!
Tadpole shrimp are crustaceans that have lived for over 300 million years with almost no change in appearance. In Japan, they live in rice paddies and are called "weed-eating insects" because they eat weeds. The included dried tadpole shrimp eggs hatch in 2-3 days when placed in water and become adults in about two weeks. By observing the life cycle of this precious creature, also known as a "living fossil," you can fully experience the wonders of life.
*The optimal water temperature for hatching is around 20℃, so they can be raised even in cooler seasons other than summer. The rearing period is from May to November.
Their lifespan is about one month. If raised successfully, they will lay eggs, allowing for successive generations.
[Kit Contents]
Three essential items for rearing: Tadpole shrimp eggs (enough for 2 sets), a dedicated tank, food (algae), and water plants (watercress). In addition to a hatching container (also used as a specimen case), useful rearing tools such as an observation loupe, tweezers, and dropper are included.
