Hiragana Chart for the Bath" allows children to learn hiragana while playing fun games and quizzes in the bath or at the living room table until they enter elementary school. ＜How to Play＞
■Can you read aloud? ...Although it varies depending on the child's development and growth, we recommend starting around age 3. Use the "tiles." The tiles can float in the bathtub or be attached to the wall. In addition to the bath, you can also use them like playing cards on a living room table. First, the child learns to recognize that the spoken "a" is the hiragana character "a". There are 46 basic sounds (seion), so you can enjoy plenty of quiz games. As you correctly identify tiles, stick them on the bathroom wall, aiming to master them all, and gradually increase the number of correct answers. When the child gets more correct answers, be sure to praise them. Next, try reading aloud. Randomly select one of the 46 face-down seion tiles. If the child can read it aloud correctly, it's a success! The ultimate goal is to be able to create a hiragana chart on the bathroom wall or table.
■Can you make words? ...Use the "tiles" and "problem cards." Each hiragana character has 3 quiz questions, which gradually increase in difficulty. Problem 1 is for ages 2-3. It includes hiragana chart words and illustrations, mainly two-character words. Problem 2 is for ages 3-4. It uses words with more characters to expand vocabulary. Problem 3 is for ages 5-6. It includes words with more characters, including voiced (dakuon) and contracted (yoon) sounds. In addition to reading aloud, children learn to arrange hiragana to form words. They also master the use of diacritical marks such as dakuon and handakuon. Eventually, try having parents give random quizzes without using the problem cards.
■Can you practice writing? ...Using the "hiragana chart" and "writing practice sheets," start around age 5. It also guides on the correct way to hold a pencil and proper posture. A video on the correct way to hold a pencil is also included.
■"Learning Map" ...Gakken Educational Research Institute's "Learning Map" is included. This can be used as a guide for your child's development, intelligence, and language acquisition. You can also check when to start hiragana learning, and what parents can do to support them.
◆Hiragana learning is an important learning that applies to all subjects. Please let your child experience the joy of knowing hiragana and words. ＜What's Included＞

　Hiragana and illustrations are printed on a sponge-like material. In addition to tiles for basic sounds (seion), there are also tiles for voiced marks (゛) and semi-voiced marks (゜), which can be combined with seion tiles.
