Hold a majestic castle and blooming cherry blossoms in your hands.
Enjoy a beautiful Japanese spring landscape. Osaka Castle, first built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1583 (Taisho 11), has been repeatedly destroyed by fire and fallen, with the current castle tower (as of 2024) being the third, following those of the Toyotomi and Tokugawa periods.
It was rebuilt in 1931 (Showa 6) with donations from citizens, and took on its present appearance after the "Great Heisei Restoration" completed in 1997.
It is registered as a tangible cultural property of Japan.
This piece depicts Osaka Castle, which has been central to Japan's turbulent history, with its castle tower soaring amidst the cherry blossoms.
