In "Lost Ruins of Arnak," players take on the role of archaeologists exploring an island, aiming for victory by performing actions such as "discovering new locations," "excavating," "researching," "buying cards," "playing cards," and "defeating guardians."
When performing these actions, for example, "excavating" requires sending an archaeologist pawn to a location and paying the cost with cards. Cards can also be used not only to pay costs but also to gain card effects by "playing cards." Since the starting cards are the same for all players, it will be necessary to purchase new cards to strengthen your deck! "Lost Ruins of Arnak" is a 2024 Spiel des Jahres Expert Game nominee, filled with exploration and discovery, featuring an exquisite balance of deck-building, worker placement, and resource management.
