The Imp in the Bottle grants any wish,
but you must always sell it for less
than you acquired it for.
"Bottle Imp" is a trick-taking card game.
Sometimes you'll enlist the help of the "Bottle Imp" and aim to win as many tricks as possible to earn points, but you must be careful not to end the game still holding the bottle.
Otherwise, the "Bottle Imp" will steal your points!
Like typical trick-taking games, "Bottle Imp" proceeds with players playing one card per turn, and the player who plays the highest card wins all the cards played (the trick).
In "Bottle Imp," the number of "tricks" won counts as points.
However, while a higher number usually wins the trick, the "Bottle Imp" allows you to win with a card if there's a card lower than its current price.
In exchange, the player who played that card becomes the new owner, and the new price drops to that value.
And importantly, if you're the one holding the "Bottle Imp" at the end of the game – a powerful item that changes owners by being sold for a lower price – your points will be negative, not positive.
"Bottle Imp," known for its unique rule variations and gameplay that align with its theme, has long been a popular trick-taking game in Europe and America, and is now gaining attention in Japan.
This new edition adds rules for 2 players and team play, expanding the player count from 3-4 to 2-6!
