Let's create the ultimate patchwork quilt!
Patchwork is a handicraft where fabric pieces are sewn together to create a large cloth. In the past, this method was used to make clothes and tablecloths from leftover fabric scraps, but today, designers create fabric from high-quality pieces, turning it into an art form. Patchwork made from irregularly shaped fabric pieces, in particular, becomes a true work of art, and many artists are engaged in it today.
This game is a two-player board game where players compete to create a more magnificent patchwork quilt on a 9x9 game board.
Each turn, players choose one fabric tile from three available in a clockwise direction from the current marker position among randomly arranged fabric tiles, then either acquire it and move the marker to its location, or pass. When acquiring a fabric tile, players pay buttons as compensation. Then, they advance their marker on the time board by the "time" indicated on the acquired fabric and place that fabric on their own game board.
The player who is behind in time always takes their turn, and when they overtake their opponent, it becomes the opponent's turn. Passing allows players to gain buttons, but in return, they must advance their time further than their opponent.
By skillfully managing time, buttons, and appropriate fabrics in this way, the player who creates a wonderful patchwork quilt wins.
This is a vibrant and easy-to-play 2-player game with interesting strategy, from Uwe Rosenberg, the creator of "Agricola"!
"Patchwork: 10th Anniversary Edition" has the same gameplay as "Patchwork," but features refreshed artwork for the patch tiles and includes "Automa Rules" for solo play.
