Game Designer: Donald X. Vaccarino. The 16th Dominion expansion is here! We are now traveling to the Eastern Isles—also known as the Western Isles, depending on your perspective. Your title here is Emperor. Everyone says you're just a figurehead, but you can still order whatever you want for breakfast.
They might be right. Your ceremonial sword and armor are made of paper. The samurai don't invite you to tea ceremonies, and the ninjas are always tying your left and right shoes together with their laces. And the epic poems they write about you are only 17 syllables long. Rice has been adopted as currency, and no one seems to want to draw your face on a grain of rice. But when you wake up every morning and look out over the land, life doesn't seem so bad. So, what will it be for breakfast? Dominion refers to a territory. Players become lords of small medieval European kingdoms, aiming to expand their territory while competing with other players. In this game, your deck represents your territory (dominion). All players start with a small deck containing only "Copper" and "Estate" cards. Using these as a foundation, players purchase various cards and use the abilities of the acquired cards to strengthen their deck and expand their territory. The player with the most "Victory Points" in their deck at the end of the game is the winner.
"Dominion: Rising Sun" is the 16th expansion set for "Dominion." It includes 300 cards and 25 new Kingdom cards. It introduces "Shadow" cards that jump out of your deck and "Prophecies" that will one day come to pass and change everything. Also, "Debt" and "Events" from previous expansions return.
"Dominion: Rising Sun" is set in a world inspired by Japan and the Far East, and features multiple Japanese illustrators.
*This product cannot be played on its own. To play, "Victory Point," "Treasure," and "Curse" cards included in "Dominion: Second Edition," "Dominion: Basic Card Set," etc., sold separately, are required.
