In "Cinema Popcorn," players aim to earn more popcorn by attracting customers to their movie theaters and satisfying them by showing them the movies they want to see.
Each round, players draw pawns from their bag, representing customers arriving at their cinema, and place them on the seats in the theaters where movies are set on their cinema board.
Movies and customers have colors, representing the genre of the movie (comedy, sci-fi, etc.) and the customer's preferred genre, respectively. If the placed customer and the set movie have the same color, the action indicated on the movie can be performed. Seats also have colors; if the placed customer and the seat have the same color, the action indicated on the seat can be performed.
However, as time passes from the first screening, the movie loses its buzz, so the number of available actions decreases each round. Eventually, there will be no actions left to perform, so when you feel the time is right, replace it with a new movie.
Actions include acquiring $ needed to purchase new movies or upgrade theaters, increasing popularity to draw more customers from the bag, placing ad tokens to adjust customers in the bag, and acquiring popcorn, which leads to victory.
Purchasing new movies and upgrading theaters can be done before drawing customers from the bag. Carefully consider the actions available from movies and upgrade your theaters to match them. Placed ad tokens can also be used at this time. Add customers of the desired color to your bag to perform many actions!
The game proceeds in this way, and after final scoring, the player with the most popcorn in their bucket is the winner.
